Water Restriction Bylaw:
Through extensive research and collaboration with other communities within the Commonwealth, as well as discussions with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (Mass DEP), I developed a water restriction bylaw specifically tailored to the needs of Dover. This involved engaging policymakers and citizen stakeholders to garner their support. As a result, the bylaw was successfully passed during the FY23 Annual Town Meeting, reflecting our commitment to responsible water use and sustainability.
Green Communities:
I spearheaded the creation of a comprehensive 5-year Green Communities plan for Dover. This strategic plan identified capital projects with the greatest potential impact and grant opportunities, aiming to both save costs for the town and reduce our carbon footprint. By aligning our efforts with the Green Communities initiative, we took significant steps towards building a more sustainable and environmentally conscious community.
Monitoring Well Dashboard:
Recognizing the importance of monitoring local aquifers and water usage, I leveraged data from the 15 monitoring wells in Dover to develop an intuitive dashboard. This dashboard serves as a valuable tool in tracking and assessing the health of our aquifers, aiding in informed decision-making and sustainable water management practices.
